The workpiece is properly centered and clamped by a multi-taper collet with a runout accuracy of less than 0.005 mm
The axial location of the differential housing is on the face of the bearing seat – if necessary the device is equipped with part present control.
An integrated damping unit – spring loaded or hydraulic – supports the spline on the gear face below the root diameter to avoid vibrations during the grinding process.
The differential housing is centered on the second bearing seat with an additional collet actuated over the stroke of the tailstock.
For sealing of the workpiece from dirt a protection bell can be mounted to the tailstock unit.
Cycloidal gearboxes are very robust against shock loads and also provide excellent positioning accuracy due to their very low back- lash and high torsional stiffness. They are therefore finding popularity in Robotic and automation gear boxes.
Most cycloidal disks, have to be provided with a qualified central bore for grinding the cycloidal profile, for technical production reasons. This bore, however, is not a functional feature, and leads to unnecessary higher manufacturing costs. manufacturing costs.
With the new clamping solution, this bore can be eliminated and eccentric clamping takes place directly in the functionally relevant reference bores on the pitch circle, which also serve as the basis in the assembly.
